Unibox have developed a bespoke shop in shop solution, used for the first time by Tom Dixon at the Maison et Objet in Paris. Visitors were treated to an exclusive preview of the new Tom Dixon accessories range, for which the Unibox Modular System was utilised.

Each aspect of the collaboration used Unibox aluminium profiles in a matt black anodised finish weaved together with other materials also fabricated at Unibox. This was designed to fashion an industrial, contemporary look and feel to be in keeping with the Tom Dixon brand and product range.

Design teams from both camps collaborated to develop bespoke accessories to add to the system, including a new profile connector which gives users the freedom to place accessories such as product information cards and LED lighting anywhere within the profile channel without being restricted where two profiles are joined together.

The bespoke design work didn’t stop there though, as we also created a mock conveyor-belt for use within Tom’s biggest exhibition space. You can see this in the images below.

In conjunction with the elements of the Modular System used, Lumenal LED lighting was installed to accentuate Tom’s latest releases. Moda lights were installed on top of the displays, giving each product its own light source whilst being minimal enough to leave the new products with maximum attention.

Speaking after the Salone show in Milan, Tom Dixon commented:

“The flexibility and versatility of Unibox’s bespoke systems has allowed us to tailor our retail display to accommodate new stock, and our heritage surroundings. The company’s open attitude towards collaboration, and commitment to incorporating innovative engineering and lighting in their systems, encourages us to continue working with them whether in Milan, New York or at our London base.”
